Cumbria Logistics is based in one the most beautiful regions in the world – and we’re committed to keeping it that way. We are fully apprised of the need for lowering transport miles to protect our environment against climate change and to improve urban air quality. For this reason, we run an environmentally clean fleet. We also choose to be Members of two pallet networks, one for standard palletised freight and one for hazardous goods. The pallet network model saves thousands of truck miles and lowers the carbon footprint of all the goods we carry. In particular, TPN – THE Pallet Network has two regional Hubs in Northampton and Preston. These take all the pallets which both originate in and are destined for that area, so condensing their journeys times to be as short as possible.
We are also committed to supporting activities and charities in our local area. TPN ran a major campaign to bring donated goods into the region for free during the extensive flooding of Cumbria in 2015, with all of fellow Members contributing transport and Preston-based members SCS Logistics and FDC Holdings spearheading warehousing and local distribution.
Cumbria Logistics also sponsors the Longtown FC football team which plays in the Carlisle Sunday Special League.
